Healing & Justice Initiative 

RCS was contracted by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office to provide coaching support for resentenced individuals to support the integration of restorative justice practices into the DA's Office. In partnership with the Healing and Justice Initiative and SF Pretrial, this program aimed to assist communities in repairing the harm caused by the criminal-legal system to communities of color and fulfill the goals of the California Resentencing Pilot Program.

Unfortunately, the DA's Office disbanded this program as their priorities and leadership changed, moving away from restorative practices and resentencing and towards increased incarceration. In response, RCS is refunneling its resources into its Collaborative Advocacy Network project to continue to promote resentencing opportunities for incarcerated Californians.
